Responding to a Daily Observer inquiry, the EJS Center disclosed that it “has not received any money from the Government of Liberia. “On the budget allocation issue, the EJS Center was not informed and only learned of this from the report in Frontpage Africa,” the EJS Center maintains. Did President Weah live up to his commitment after all, unbeknownst to the EJS Center? If the Gender Minister does not know who added the EJS Center as subsidy beneficiaries to her ministry’s budget account, then who does? Now that the EJS Center is aware of its US$1 million subsidy allotment in the 2022 national budget, the question remains whether or not the Center will accept the money.

Protest by LOFA County regarding Cape Mount County, featuring three first division players instead of two in the December 18 match between the two counties, has been dismissed by the Protest Committee of the National County Sports Meet. The committee, after conducting hearing into the protest, established that the protest letter from Lofa was not submitted within the stipulated time frame as enshrined in the rules and regulations governing the 2021/2022 national county sports meet. The committee also established that the Protester (Lofa) could not prove that the captain of Grand Cape Mount or an official of the county’s team signed on to the protest as required by the rules and regulations governing the National County Sports Meet. Regarding Bong’s protest, the committee established Fransico Pajibo was an unused substitute in the Mano River Union tournament and didn’t feature for the senior national team as claimed by Bong. Gbarpolu lost their protest against Bomi for using Murphy Miller, after the committee established that player Miller registered and played for Sandi FC in the 2019/20 LFA second division league that was nullified.

With Christmas Day around the corner, the annual debate has resurfaced about why it is celebrated with a national holiday and not any other religion. However, that is not why Liberia, and the US passed a law declaring Christmas Day a national holiday, but not Diwali, Yom Kippur, or Eid al-Fitr. Christmas is not a ‘religious’ holiday, unlike Hindu, Jewish, and Muslim festivals. Christmas is a religious, secular, cultural, and commercial phenomenon with its reindeer, Christmas trees, elves, and Sani Clauses. The former is a secular festival, while the latter is Christianity’s most important religious holiday.

The Chairperson of the National Elections Commission has been hooked for corruption, conflict of interest, and money-laundering by the Liberia Anti- Corruption Commission. The historic finding of the LACC investigation comes after NEC Executive Director Anthony Sengbe told the public that his boss did not influence the bidding process. But NEC claimed that only "Tuma Enterprises was the most responsive in the bidding process," hence their final selection and approval by a panel of procurement officials. If the NEC had purchased the equipment, it would have saved a whopping US$153,320, while owning the equipment out rightly, instead of leasing it. However, the LACC has cleared Bishop John Allan Klayee of the Jubilee Church and George Yuoh of corruption allegations of payroll paddling and financial impropriety at the Liberia Airport Authority.
