Oil Minister meets with organizers of Libya Energy and Economy Summit 2023

The Libyan Oil Minister, Mohamed Aoun today had the first working meeting with the organizers of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit 2023 to inform them of upcoming initiatives in the energy sector. The Ministry of Oil and Gas will invite official delegations from Europe, Africa and the Middle East and organizations including OPEC to participate in the event on November 8-9, 2023 in Tripoli. The minister stressed that about a third of Libya’s onshore and offshore territory has yet to be explored for hydrocarbons, as well as the diversification of its resource base for future production, and discussed the recent lifting of force majeure by some international operators – which is expected to unleash investment in the market. Energy Capital & Power, the organizer of the summit, and the Ministry of Oil and Gas are looking forward to receiving ministerial and private sector delegations from Italy, France, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey, Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the Middle East and Africa. International organizations such as OPEC, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, the African Petroleum Producers Organization, the African Energy Chamber, the International Energy Agency and the International Energy Forum will be formally invited to contribute their experiences and views to the summit.
