EU4SKILLS project kicks off to boost jobs and close the skills gap in Libya

A cooperation agreement was signed in Tripoli yesterday between the Tripoli based Ministry of Economy and Trade and Expertise France to launch the EU4Skills project. The project is supported by the EU in Libya ‎and co-financed by the French government. ‎Project aimsProject implementors Expertise France say the project is an important step towards enhancing skills, employability and achieving sustainable economic development. It aims to bridge the gap between education outputs and the labour market, integrate digital technology into economic activities, support the transition towards a green and blue economy. It also aims to improve the performance of banking and financial institutions to facilitate access to finance for small and medium enterprises.‎‎The agreement was signed by Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, and the representative of Experts France in Libya and Tunisia, Stefan Orville, in the presence of the Ambassador of the European Union to Libya, Nicola Orlando, the Ambassador of France to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje, the representative of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Sweid, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Saleh Al-Ghoul, the Director of the Institute of Banking and Financial Studies, Dr. Fathi Aqoub, and several representatives of the concerned institutions in addition to directors of departments at the Ministry of Economy.‎‎On the sidelines of the meeting, a contract was signed under which the European Union Mission in Libya appointed Expertise France as implementors of the project.
