Tinubu to Qatari investors: Report any official who demands bribe
President Bola Tinubu has told Qatar’s captains of industry to report to him any government official who demands a bribe or any form of inducement at any point in their business endeavour. Speaking at the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha, on Sunday, President Tinubu told Qatari investors that Africa’s largest economy and its systems are being reformed and upgraded. “Do not offer a bribe to any of our people, and if it is requested or taken from you, report to us. Do not be the investors who miss out on the golden opportunity we present,” the President added. “We look forward to working with our Nigerian counterparts to achieve our joint objectives in these sectors,” the Minister said.

FG inaugurates mining marshals to combat illegal mining
THE Federal Government has inaugurated Mining Marshals alongside operational and utility vehicles to tackle the menace of illegal mining and economic sabotage across the nation. Mining Marshals, a unit created by the Commandant-General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Abubakar Audi, were drawn from the 36 States and FCT Commands of NSCDC, to be deployed to tackle activities of illegal miners in over 1,975 illegal mining sites across the country. Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, speaking during the inauguration of the Marshals in Abuja, decried the menace of illegal mining in Nigeria, saying the creation of Mining Marshals was a good move to enhance the capacity of the officers and men to appropriately discharge the Corps’ statutory duties in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure. The commissioning coincided with the commemoration of the 2024 World Civil Defence Day with the theme: Honour Heroes and Promote Safety Skills as spelt out by the Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO). He decried the spate of illegal mining activities in the nation, affirming that over 1,975 illegal mining sites have been detected across the country.

'Extraordinary' Pogba's doping ban loss for football, says Allegri

The petitioner told the court that she was tired of their marriage and prayed the court to dissolve it. She also urged the court to grant her custody of their three children, but make the respondent responsible for their education and upkeep. The respondent told the court that he was still interested in their marriage and settlement was ongoing to ensure that they continued their relationship. The presiding judge, Hammad Ajumonbi, advised the petitioner to exercise patience and consider settlement whenever approached by respondent, saying that all marriages had their challenges.

ALSCON requires $500M to revitalise Aluminum Smelter Plant in Ikot Abasi — MD

The Bureau of Public Enterprise approached the Supreme Court taking the BFIG to court. Equally, you should understand that in our agreement with the Nigerian government, we agreed that the last court of arbitration will be the London Court of Arbitration. “After the ruling of the Supreme Court, we approached the London Court of Arbitration and the court ruled in our favour, so we have the ruling from the London Court that ALSCON was properly privatised,” he explained.
