Magnitude 6.4 earthquake hits Gulf of California – Tribune Online
An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck the Gulf of California on Sunday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said. The quake struck at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), EMSC said. Reuters reports that shortly after the quake occurred, the U.S. Tsunami Warning System said there was no tsunami danger for the U.S. West Coast, British Columbia, or Alaska. Small variations in seawater levels, of a few centimetres, may be detected in the region where the quake occurred, the Mexican civil defence office later said via Twitter. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) pegged the earthquake at a magnitude of 6.3.

Police arrest 3 suspects, recover vehicles parts in Delta
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three car thieves in separate operations in Ughelli and Asaba axis of the state. The arrest followed series of reported cases of vehicles either snatched or removed from where they were parked in Asaba, Warri, Ughelli, and environs. Seven vehicles recovered, including one Toyota Corolla with reg. WW 748 SL, Toyota Corolla with reg. Dismembered vehicle parts recovered from the suspects were 74 vehicle tyres, 16 vehicle engines, eight gear boxes, 15 motor batteries and two motorcycle engines.

Father of four dies, married lover in coma after sex romp
A father of four children simply identified as Chikwado Obiyor died after a sex romp with his married lover, identified as Chidinma. Qatar-based drug kingpins arrested as NDLEA intercepts meth consignment at Lagos airport
Qatar-based drug kingpins, Eyah Celestine Nnamdi, alias Murphy and Ugwuoke Peter Oluchukwu have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) following the interception of their methamphetamine consignment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos State. NDLEA officers discovered that the suspect was travelling to Doha with an Ivorian international passport with the name Hien Narcisse. In the same vein, NDLEA operatives in Niger State have seized a total of 1,072 kilograms of cannabis in two raids. Meanwhile, a total of 30.9 hectares of cannabis farms were destroyed in Delta, Edo and Ondo in the past week. In Delta, 18 hectares of cannabis farms were destroyed on Monday 12th June in Umuchime village, Ogume, Ndokwa West LGA by NDLEA operatives supported by soldiers.

BREAKING: Six feared dead, 14 injured in Oyo road crash
No fewer than six persons have been confirmed dead, while 14 others sustained varying degrees of injuries, in a road accident which occurred on the Ibadan-Oyo Expressway in Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State on Saturday. It was further gathered that the occupants of the bus, all males, were heading towards the northern part of the country before the accident. Olugbesan, who attributed the cause of the accident to speeding and overloading, also confirmed that 20 persons were involved in the incident. The cause of the crash was speeding and overloading. The bus was supposed to carry 14 passengers but was loaded with 20 passengers.”The unit commander, therefore, urged the road users to be careful while driving, avoid speeding, overloading and night travelling.

40 killed, 8 injured in militant attack on Ugandan school
The Ugandan military reported on Saturday that about 40 people were killed and six others were kidnapped by militants affiliated with Islamic State during an attack on a school in western Uganda close to the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was also reported that a further eight people remain in critical condition after the attack on Lhubiriha secondary school in Mpondwe. The attack happened at around 23:30 local time (20:30 GMT) on Friday at the school in the Kasese district in western Uganda. The violent incident comes after last week’s purported ADF fighter raid in a community in the DRC close to the Ugandan border. This attack on the school, which is less than two kilometres (1.25 miles) from the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is the first one on a Ugandan school in twenty-five years.
