Nation will reject those who rejected court’s verdict: Qureshi
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday said that the whole nation will reject those who have rejected the court’s verdict. The PTI leader called out to the people and said that the public should also boycott from the opposition leaders as they have been exposed. “The people of Punjab have rejected them in the by-elections, now the nation will reject him in the general election as well,” he added. He further said the opposition leaders have boycotted as they don’t trust the judges, while in the past they have celebrated on the verdicts given by the same judges. Rebuking the opposition leaders he posed questions that have they not given arguments?

Fatal Flooding
It seems as though Pakistan is being put up against one challenge after the other, the newest being urban flooding born out of what is being described as an abnormal spell of rainfall during this monsoon season. Cities across the country have been reporting infrastructural damages, deaths and a population that has been made immobile due to unpredictable levels of rainfall, even during the monsoon season. Record levels of rainfall are being reported in cities like Karachi, collecting up to 142 millimetres in total. Several regions in Punjab are affected, much like KP and Gilgit-Baltistan which are also reporting landslides on top of everything. Research and development must go into flood relief so that more innovative and permanent solutions can be employed.

Pakistani pilgrim’s honesty makes country proud
A Pakistani Hajji set an example of honesty in Saudi Arabia and made Pakistan proud. Another Pakistani pilgrim Haji Sajjad Anwar found this money from the bus during the journey, who immediately reported the money to Pakistan Hajj Mission’s Sector Commander Ahmed Noor Waziri and assistant Khalid Karim. Director Cooperation DIG Dr. Muhammad Akhtar Abbas, upon receiving the information, immediately searched for the original owner, Pakistani Hajin Khatoon Khalida Parveen, and under his supervision, Deputy Director Dr. Akhtar Abbas went to Hajin Khatoon’s building and returned the money under his supervision. Full court was required to end controversy
A fresh political crisis has given birth to yet another constitutional controversy over the interpretation of Article 63-A in the light of recent Supreme Court orders. CJP Umar Ata Bandial had observed that the loyalty of members was a basic right of political parties. The issue to be decided now is whether it is the party leader or the party’s parliamentary leader who has the authority to issue the party’s guideline. There are some who are interpreting directions of a ‘parliamentary party’ in Article 63A as directions of the ‘leader of the parliamentary party’ as opposed to party head. They are the final authority in devising policies, making alliances, issuing tickets to party candidates and appointing parliamentary leaders.

Govt to boycott court proceedings if full bench not formed

SCREENGRABInterior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday said that all parties in the government coalition have unanimously decided to boycott court proceedings if their demand to form a full court bench is not met in the case related to the recently held Punjab chief minister’s election. Speaking on the occasion, Azam Nazir Tarar said that presidents of Supreme Court Bar Association were also present during today’s proceedings, saying that they had also said that forming the full court bench will increase the respect for the top court. He said that only the head of a political party was the authority to declare the party policy in accordance with the previous judgements of the apex court. He said that they would only accept the judgement of the full court bench on the matter.

Top clerics leave for Kabul to hold talks with TTP
ISLAMABAD – A high level delegation comprising Pakistan’s top religious scholars including Molana Muhammad Tayyab Tahiri, Mufti Taqi Usmani who is president of Wifaq ul Madaris al Arabia, Hanif Jalandhari, along with other religious scholars left for Kabul yesterday to meet the Afghan Taliban leadership. This is the first high-level religious delegation which is visiting Afghanistan at the invitation of Taliban Government after they took over power last year. Credible sources said that during their stay in Kabul, the delegation will meet the acting prime minister of Afghanistan and other cabinet members. The sources said the delegation will also discuss about talks between TTP and Pakistani Government with the facilitation of Afghan Taliban. The delegation will also talk about role of Ulema in countering terrorism, militancy and cooperation of Afghan Taliban in this regard.

2022 TLN Prospect Rankings: #20 Max Ellis
Ellis makes his debut on the TLN Prospect Rankings just inside the Top 20 after his impressive breakout season at Notre Dame. Ellis was hot in the first half of the NCAA season, scoring 13 goals and 23 points in Notre Dame’s first 20 games to land squarely on NHL radars. Down the stretch, Ellis scored just three goals and five points in the final 19 games of his season. On special teams, Ellis was largely a secondary powerplay contributor with Notre Dame and I don’t see a ton of powerplay upside in his game. Depending on what further moves are made and how he plays early in the season, Ellis could quickly climb up the lineup.

Free medical camp for transgender persons organised – Latest News – The Nation
ISLAMABAD – Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC)’s Social Affairs Society (SAS), in collaboration with Dr Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), arranged a free medical camp near Bari Imam in Islamabad for transgender persons, who are the most neglected community. A large number of transgender persons benefitted from the medical camp where screening for diabetes and hypertension alongside vision checkup and BMI was provided. Consultations for general diseases and free medicines were also provided to everyone coming to the medical camp. Other than transgender persons, some underprivileged people also attended the camp to avail free medical facilities and they were guided about healthy habits and diets. They thanked the hospital and the college management and students, and expressed their wish to have more such medical camps on a regular basis.

PML-N forms Punjab Cabinet
Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leadership on Sunday decided to form Punjab Cabinet immediately after Hamza Shahbaz retained his post by winning the Punjab Chief Minister election. In this regard, a party meeting was held in Model Town under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the post-Punjab CM election, which was attended by the senior party leaders. Party sources privy to the matter said that it was decided in the meeting that the Punjab cabinet should be formed immediately. While Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Bilal Yasin, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Muhammad Manshaullah Butt, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Malik Ahmed Khan, and Sardar Awais Leghari could be part of the Punjab cabinet. On the other hand, there is a possibility of including 3 members of the People’s Party and independent members in the cabinet.
