Romualdez on VP Sara: We're good
KUALA LUMPUR: All is calm and "good" between House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Vice President Sara Duterte. "We're good," Romualdez told reporters as President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. prepared to wrap up his state visit in Malaysia. Last May, Duterte threw barbs seemingly directed at Romualdez following the demotion of former president and now Pampanga 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the House leadership. This was followed by Duterte leaving Lakas-CMD of which Romualdez is party president. However last Tuesday, the two officials were seen arm-in-arm during the departure honors for the President.

Pedestrian dies after being hit by two minibuses consecutively
A male pedestrian died after he was hit by two minibuses consecutively in Kwun Tong on Thursday night. The man was crossing the road at 95 Hong Ning Road at the time and was first hit by a red minibus going down the slope. As the man collapsed, he was further hit by a green minibus climbing uphill in the adjacent driving lane. The two minibuses later pulled over by the side as police cordoned off the area to investigate. Transport Department said due to the incident, all lanes of Hong Ning Road (Kwun Tong Road bound) near Hong Ning Road Recreation Ground are closed to all traffic as of 8.34 pm.

North Korea’s Kim Jong Un meets Russian defense minister
SEOUL — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met with Russia’s defense minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday who was on a rare visit to the isolated country during which both sides pledged to boost ties, state media KCNA reported. Shoigu handed Kim a letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the report said. Shoigu praised the North Korean military as the “most powerful” in the world during a banquet in Pyongyang, news agency Yonhap reported, citing the Korean Central Broadcasting Station (KCBS). IN English, the brief, concise, and unembellished sentence is preferable to the long and complex sentence that packs in so many ideas. In contrast, stronger, clearer, and more elegant writing can be achieved by judiciously combining sentences or by adding modifying clauses to them. Human body parts found in Bilibid septic tank
Human remains were found on Wednesday inside a septic tank at the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, prompting speculation that the site could be a mass grave for missing inmates. Initial reports said that Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) personnel discovered chopped-up body parts inside the sewer box located beside a chapel within Dormitory 8. Bautista said the dogs pointed toward the direction of the septic tank, prompting them to call in the NBI. Cataroja was the first to be reported missing since Catapang took over in October. While Cataroja was reported missing on the morning of July 15, it was not the first time he disappeared.
