Palliative care is appropriate at any age and at any stage in the illness. What is the difference between Palliative Care and Hospice Care? The concept of holistic care is practised at the hospice level with special emphasis on symptom management and end of life care by inter-disciplinary teams.

Chennai Super Kings on top in points table
Another top dog in the IPL, this time the Royal Challengers, suffered their second successive defeat as the Chennai Super Kings beat them by six wickets in Sharjah on Friday reaching a 157 target in only 18.1 overs and in the process take the top slot in the points table. But in the end it was just Kohli (53) and Padikkal (70) who did the scoring for the Royal Challengers who lost their way and collapsed from 111 for no loss to 156 for 6 in the 20 overs. With their dismissals, the Royal Challengers could not keep up the momentum as AB de Villiers made just 12 and Glen Maxwell a mere 11 runs. In contrast when the Super Kings batted there was no big rush to get the runs as Ruturaj Gaikwad (38) and Faf du Plessis (31) played sensible cricket and shared in a 71-run opening stand that set their victory base in 8.1 overs. The biggest news and trailers from Netflix’s Tudum event
Netflix held its first Tudum event today, a three-hour livestream that featured, well, a lot of stuff. That means more than 70 series and 28 movies, which is more than anyone should have to keep track of. The next project from Studio ColoridoAhead of the main Tudum event, Netflix spent some time outlining its anime lineup, and the biggest reveal was the next feature from Studio Colorido, best-known for 2020’s A Whisker Away. The new clip primarily focuses on a three-minute-long fight scene between the star trio, where Gadot comes out on top. Dancer, TikTok star, and entrepreneur: Denathi Pussegoda
She is a dancer, choreographer, Dance Inspire LK Founder, and content creator, who is also currently finishing off her degree in early childhood studies. We had the chance to speak with Denathi earlier this week and we got to chat about all things Dance Inspire and TikTok. While I was in school and in my private dance classes, I would do a lot of choreography. We also started a Dance Inspire YouTube page – it was a great way to motivate children to get out there and be confident, and also expose their talents. The Witcher season 2 gets a few new trailers
The upcoming second season of The Witcher was a major presence at the streamer’s big showcase; fans were able to check out a pair of very short teasers, that gave a good look at what life is like on the Continent, and what we can expect from Ciri in particular. Additionally, we got a first glimpse at the prequel series Blood Origin with a behind-the-scenes tour of the set, and a trailer to catch fans up on a season 1 — which also has some new footage from the upcoming season. The first season of the show debuted in 2019 and became a huge hit for Netflix, with the company claiming it was its most-watched first season of television. A second season was inevitable — we got the first proper trailer for it in July — but Netflix is also turning the world of Geralt into a big franchise. Season 2 of The Witcher is slated to hit Netflix on December 17th — and the streamer has confirmed that it will be back for a third season as well.

Bill Maher slams Whoopi Goldberg for claiming we need more than one national anthem

Suny Side Up: Anura exposes elephant owners
The recent controversy over the release of tamed elephants that were with the Department of National Zoological Gardens back to their former owners was debated in Parliament last week. Speaking during the debate, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake had revealed that one of the Prime Minister’s security officers, one N. Wanninayake (Neville), also owned two elephants. “Traditionally, elephants were owned by temples, devalayas (shrines), and a few privileged families to show their wealth. Abhayarama shifts from SLPP to UNP
The Abhayarama Temple in Narahenpita served as the unofficial headquarters of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) when it operated as the Joint Opposition (JO) in Parliament during the previous Yahapalana Government. However, the Abhayarama Temple is now being frequented by another political party – the United National Party (UNP), which was once the largest political party in the country. LNG agreement with New Fortress: Mixed signals on energy exploration
The Government agreed to grant New Fortress a five-year LNG supply deal to recover their expenditure on the floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) and pipeline construction. Responding to a query about the LNG supply agreement with New Fortress that might send mixed signals about the national energy strategy, energy expert Dr. Vidhura Ralapanawe pointed out that it may lead to confusion among potential investors and cast doubts on government policy. The Yugadanavi-New Fortress agreement, which had not followed existing tender processes, drew strong condemnation from the Opposition and from within the Government’s ranks. Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa issued a statement calling on the Government to withdraw the agreement, alleging that the LNG supply agreement will give the US-based company a monopoly. “The agreement allows New Fortress Energy to supply LNG to any power plant in the country.

Tiger King season 2 premieres November 17th
Tiger King, the hugely popular documentary heavily associated with the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, will premiere on November 17th, Netflix revealed at its Tudum event on Saturday. Netflix just announced the second season, which it is calling Tiger King 2, on Thursday as part of a short trailer revealing many other true crime shows heading to the streaming service. Netflix is promising that it will have “just as much mayhem and madness” as the first season. While it’s unclear exactly what the second season might be about, Netflix’s Tudum trailer showed a brief clip of Joe Exotic, the main focus of the first season, in prison, so it could focus in part on that. Tiger King’s first season was a cultural sensation; in a press release, Netflix said that it “attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks after its March 2020 premiere.” By making a season 2, Netflix seems to be attempting to recapture that lightning-in-a-bottle popularity once again.

Delta Airlines wants competitors to share info about unruly passengers
Delta Airlines said in a pair of internal memos to employees this week that it’s asked competitors to share their no-fly lists, to try to keep passengers who cause disturbances on planes from bringing their mayhem to other airlines. Since January 1st, the Federal Aviation Administration says it has received 4,385 reports of unruly behavior by passengers, which includes 3,199 reports of passengers “refusing to comply with the federal facemask mandate.” The FAA has issued more than $1 million in proposed fines, but the agency does not have the authority to conduct criminal prosecutions. She also shouted obscenities at the flight crew, and intentionally bumped into a seated passenger on her way to the lavatory. When the seated passenger objected to this behavior, she punched the passenger in the face.”The passengers in those incidents were referred to law enforcement and the FAA has proposed fines ranging from $29,000 to $45,000. Interfering with flight crew aboard an airplane is a federal crime that has a max sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

Anti-vaxxers bring streets of Newcastle to a standstill

See inside the iPhone 13 Pro in iFixit’s latest teardown
The team at iFixit has a new teardown of the iPhone 13 Pro, finding it has an enormous battery and some small internal changes to how the components are laid out to accommodate the smaller notch on this year’s models. After conducting battery swap tests, on the iPhone 13 Pro, iFixit found its tests succeeded, but still got a warning notification.
