Total recoveries in at 479,182 while the death toll in the country has risen to 13,267.

The controversial show has now left schools urging parents to monitor what their children are watching amid fears of copycat behaviour. A parent who lives in Deal wrote on social media: 'We've received 2 school letters (primary/secondary) warning parents about letting kids watch ''Squid Game''. He tweeted: 'Can't believe my kids' school has had to send a letter telling parents that kids are playing their own version of Squid Game and that parents will have sanctions applied if their kids mimic Squid Game. In each episode of Squid Game, characters take part in bloody versions of traditional children's games, like Grandmother's Footsteps, or British Bulldogs, with the winners progressing to the next 'round' of the game show.

One in 12 children in England were infected with coronavirus on any given day last week, according to official figures that lay bare the true scale of the back-to-school spread. But data for the most recent day alone shows 8.1 per cent had Covid – equating to one in 12 children in the age group. MailOnline's analysis of official figures yesterday suggested Covid cases may have finally peaked in children. Around one in 70 people had Covid in the week to October 2, up from one in 85 the previous week. For Scotland, the ONS estimates around one in 60 people had Covid in the week to October 2, down from one in 55 the previous week.

A mother has given birth to her third consecutive set of twins meaning she's had six babies in five years. Jolene Mckee, 32, and her husband, Andrew, 33, from Brooklyn, New York, are now a family of eight after recently welcoming their third set of twins, Aiden and Jaiden, who are now three-months-old. 'I feel so lucky that we have all three combinations too, girl twins, boy-girl twins and now our boy twins. After falling pregnant for the third time I was 100 percent sure it couldn't be another set of twins. 'He said that in 25 years he had never seen a woman have three sets of twins.'

The next call was “minimums”, before which point Captain Phil had to announce “Runway lights in sight”, or “No contact”. If the camera can’t see the aircraft when it passes overhead, then it proves that the aircraft was still in cloud.

As You Sow has withdrawn its resolution in return for Microsoft conducting the study and making parts and documentation more available to repair shops that aren’t official Microsoft service providers based on the study’s results. The fact that the company is at least willing to do that is encouraging and is more than other tech giants have done when it comes to right to repair. If that kind of behavior continues, it would be hard to give Microsoft props for any positive work it does for right to repair. Despite the caveats, right to repair supporters see this agreement as a good thing. PRIG’s right to repair campaign manager also told The Verge that it was “the real deal” and cited it as evidence as Microsoft “changing its tune” about right to repair.

The new cases raise the total number of active infections to a staggering 15,000. More Victorians are being hospitalised while battling the virus, with 39 people admitted on Wednesday, bringing the total in hospital to 564. The death toll is also rising, with two more deaths reported on Thursday, taking the toll from the current outbreak to 70. Premier Daniel Andrews said daily cases were 'higher than we'd like them to be' and urged Melburnians and regional residents in lockdown to follow the rules for a couple more weeks. The teenage gunman who opened fire in an Arlington, Texas, school on Wednesday has been released on bond, a day after pulling a gun from his backpack and shooting a 'bully', a teacher and one other girl. This video, taken moments before the shooting, shows Timothy Simpkins, the shooter, being beaten up in his classroom by a 15-year-old student.
