But Kitty is far from the first bride to be inspired by Grace, with many royals sporting similar gowns over the seven decades since. Like Kate and Grace, Margaret also opted for a tiara with her dress - which featured a corseted waist, long sleeves and billowing skirt. The Danish-born royal's dress clearly draws on Grace Kelly's with the same high neck, lace sleeves and puffed skirt. Kitty's main gown, with an intricate floral lace design, a high neck, long sleeves and puffed shoulders, was an echo of her mother's own wedding dress.

For all of 2020, there were 14,462,297 lightning strikes in Sri Lanka recorded by Earth Networks’ Total Lightning Network, 572,729 of which were dangerous cloud-to ground strikes. Government agencies that benefit from Earth Networks Total Lightning Network include disaster management and emergency management agencies in the region. “The expansion of the Earth Networks Total Lightning Network in Sri Lanka results in more accurate data collection and severe weather predictions,” said Kumar Margasahayam, Regional Manager of Asia at Earth Networks. Earth Networks Total Lightning Network is the most extensive and technologically advanced lightning network in the world.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 and A52 5G were announced in March with Snapdragon 720G and 750G chipsets, respectively. This will likely be marketed as the Samsung Galaxy A52s and it has a Snapdragon 778G. GalaxyClub, who spotted the benchmark result, also quotes sources that say the Galaxy A52s is coming to Europe with at least three colorways to choose from: Black, White and Light Green. Covid-19 has proved the interconnectedness of everything in between nature, human beings, economy and each of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ActionToImpact campaign will be instrumental in creating awareness on SDGs through various activities such as forums, discussions, social media, etc. Especially social media will be used to create awareness on SDGs, engage with the youth and get them involved in achieving SDGs. ActionToImpact campaign will also see the inauguration of the largest undergraduate network focused on SDGs. COVID-19- Another 1,018 new cases confirmed
July 26, 2021 07:29 pmThe Ministry of Health reports that another 1,018 persons have tested positive for coronavirus today (July 26). All new cases are associated with the New Year Covid-19 cluster. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country thus far to 297,534. Presently 24,428 infected patients are being treated at hospitals and treatment centers across the island. Meanwhile, the number of total recoveries has reached 269,007.

Passenger Vessel “Vadatharaki” resumes service
COLOMBO (News 1st); Transportation between the islands of Punguduthivu and Delft was severely disrupted due to the non-operational condition of “Vadatharaki” – a Passenger Vessel deployed by the Road Development Authority to transport passengers and goods between Kurikadduwan Jetty on Punguduthivu Island and Delft Island in Jaffna. Following major repairs done by the Navy, the Passenger Vessel resumed its usual service commencing from 15th July 2021. Ten (10) naval personnel, as its crew, man this Passenger Vessel which is deployed as a welfare measure for islanders by Road Development Authority (RDA). Subsequently, the vessel resumed its service effective from 15th July for the benefit of the communities in the island sector. Moreover, the Navy’s effort to get the passenger vessel back to operational condition was highly admired by government officials and the general public in Jaffna and Delft Island.

The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds in parts of the country. People who are living in the above-mentioned areas are requested to be vigilant in this regard. Meanwhile the department has also issued an advisory for strong winds and rough sea areas. The sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Puttalam to Kankasanturai via Mannar can be very rough at times. The other sea areas around the island can be rough at times.

Ceylon Motor Traders Association holds its 101st AGM
The Ceylon Motor Trader’s Association (CMTA), one of the oldest automotive associations in South Asia, comprising companies who are the franchise holders of global automobile manufacturers, held its 101st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 30th June 2021. Sharing his thoughts, the CMTA Chairman, Yasendra Amerasinghe said, “Exactly a year ago today, we held our Centenary AGM. The self-made billionaire owner of online fashion brand Boohoo faces having to tear down a ‘fortress-like’ gateway which was built without planning permission at his mansion. Before Boohoo shot onto the ever-growing fast fashion scene, its owner Mahmud Kamani, 55, sold handbags in traders' stall. Entrepreneurial Mahmud sold handbags on a market stall. The original plans showed a simple style gateway with gates between two pillars and a modest stone walls either side. Mr Kamani who used to drive a van delivering clothes for his father and sold clothes on his family market stall set up boohoo.com in 2006 alongside businesswoman Carol Kane.

Nissan announces 400 new jobs at its Sunderland car factory
The news comes just weeks after the Japanese firm - with support from the UK Government - confirmed it is to have a battery-making plant close to its Wearside vehicle production factory. Some of the new jobs will be responsible for preparing the plant for an increased electric vehicle output, including the requirement for new machinery and a separate production line. Sri Lanka cricket is ever indebted to ‘Killi’
Rajandram Rajamahendran aka Killi Maharaja (1943-2021)Rajandram or Rajendran Rajamahendran aka Killi Maharaja, the Chairman of the Capital Maharaja Group, passed away yesterday (25). Rajamahendran, affectionately known as Killi, passed away while he was receiving treatment for Covid-19 at a private hospital in Colombo. One of the biggest benefactors of national cricket during the country’s formative years in Test cricket, Rajamahendran provided employment to a number of leading Sri Lanka cricketers like Duleep Mendis, Roy Dias, and Arjuna Ranatunga, among many others, during the late 1970s and early 80s. He was also credited with instilling discipline into national cricketers and on many occasions went out of the way to encourage and financially support leading Lanka cricketers at a time the game was not professionalised. Motorola is bringing the Edge 20 phones on August 5
The Moto Edge 20 and Moto Edge 20 Pro popped up on TENAA, revealing a launch is right around the corner and now the company has finally revealed the launch date - August 5. While it doesn’t mention the phones by name, the poster suggests a proper camera phone, and that’s what the Edge 20 series is bringing. The Moto Edge 20 has been benchmarked with a “berlin” motherboard, which is a code name for the Snapdragon 778G chipset. The Edge 20 Pro, on other hand, has no specs listed at the NTBC, but at least we have a confirmation on the name, as well as its 5G capabilities.
