more-inReacting to a letter by the Delhi government’s Education Department to the Registrar of Delhi University that funds to 28 Delhi government-aided colleges will not be released till governing bodies are formed, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Friday accused the government of trying to orchestrate a political takeover of DU’s 28 colleges. ‘Letter of threat’Mr. Tiwari said it was a matter of concern that the Kejriwal government had in its ‘letter of threat’ to the DU Registrar openly said that funds to 28 fully-aided colleges will not be released till the university accepts the Delhi government’s proposal on constitution of governing bodies. Careers at stakeThe Delhi BJP president claimed the teaching process in all these 28 colleges will collapse if funds are not released, jeopardising the careers of lakhs of students and over 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff members of these colleges. It’s also a conspiracy to disturb the teaching and learning process of the students, most of whom come from economically poor background,” said Mr. Tiwari. Mr. Tiwari has appealed to Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal to intervene in the matter.
