‘PM’s aide drawing pension, not salary from WB’

According to a clarification statement issued on Monday, the PM’s aide “erroneously mentioned during a live press conference in Press Information Department (PID) on November 20, 2020, that he was drawing salary from World Bank, though he wanted to say ‘pension’”. The statement added that he has declared this in his tax returns and asset declaration statement. The statement further said that Dr Husain retired from WB in 1999 after serving there for 20 years. As per policy of WB for the retired employees, he is also drawing pensionary benefits. Dr Husain is not drawing any pensionary benefits from his services rendered as the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the director of IBA Karachi, it concluded.
