A female passenger died after she was trapped by a metro door in Shanghai. At 4.30pm, the passenger was trapped by a safety door at Qi'an Road metro station on route 15. Only after the train started and dragged her away that the staffer pushed a button to stop the train. While a mechanism should be in place to stop a train from leaving when passengers are trapped by doors, it did not work at the time. The metro company said it was saddened by the passenger's death and will fully cooperate in investigations.
