Sollie/GNN Staff ReporterA two-day capacity building workshop for journalists covering the workings of the United Nations in Liberia on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 began kick-off in Monrovia. The two-day capacity building workshop, which is being conducted by the United Nations Communications Group (UNCG) at the UNMIL Headquarters in Monrovia, began August 30, 2016 and is expected to end on today, Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Making opening remarks at the start of the workshop, the Head UN Resident Coordinator Office, Madam Chencho G. Borjee, said that the UN has specific areas and structures that need different ways of reporting. Madam Borjee stated that the training is intended to train journalists on how to report on the workings of the UN in a simple and visible way. She said that the media is very important to the UN because it is the medium through which the UN reaches out to people.
