The country's third mobile company said it is working through a range of initiatives to strip out costs and plans to cut its 1200-strong workforce by a tenth. "We are already seeing revenue impacts, and like all businesses, are in an unprecedented situation with uncertainty on how long it will last." The New Zealand carrier had 479,000 post-paid and 980,000 pre-paid mobile customers at December 31, and 108,000 broadband customers. Aue said the decision to cut costs aimed to avoid more dramatic changes in the future.
