32 hours set for govt policy debate

Parliament has allocated 32 hours and 30 minutes for the upcoming policy debate, with the opposition given 14 hours and 30 minutes to scrutinise the policy framework of the Bhumjaithai (BJT)-led administration. Korrawee Prissananantakul, a BJT lawmaker from Ang Thong, said the debate will begin at 8.30 am on Thursday, when Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presents the government's policy statement. The opposition bloc and government MPs have been allotted 14 hours and 30 minutes and five hours and 30 minutes, respectively, for questioning, while the Senate has four hours. Cabinet ministers will have six hours to explain policy in detail, while the chair of the meeting will have one hour, with the session scheduled to conclude at 11pm on Friday. The 21-page policy statement, as previously seen by the media, is built around five key areas aimed at steering Thailand through economic uncertainty while strengthening long-term stability.
