Early Monday afternoon, Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches for Ottawa-Gatineau and the surrounding area, including Maniwaki, Pembroke and Brockville, this afternoon and early evening. In western Quebec, the national weather agency issued a thunderstorm warning for Wakefield and Low, as well as the Pontiac region including Shawville. Ottawa is close to its forecasted high of 33 C today, edging out the highs of the last four days. The humidity, which is making it feel close to 40, could surpass Sunday as the capital's muggiest day of this heat wave.
