A Brief analysis of India’s NDC : Its Climate Action Pledges, at Paris CoP-21 (NDC) and Glasgow CoP-26


India’s absolute CO2 emissions were approximately 2.5 Gtons (250 crore tons) in 2018 and 2019 (*14), which was about 7.2% of global emissions. Also, India ranks fourth or fifth in both total Solar and Wind power capacity installed (the 3rd to 5th positions keep varying). (*18H),By 2030, Non-fossil fuel sources (including nuclear fission and big dam based hydro power, not renewables alone) will account for at least 40% of India’s Installed Power capacity. 50% of India’s “Energy needs” will be met by renewable energy. Will also save huge amounts of CO2 emissions, and add large public health benefits as added Bonus.
