There have been many coming-out scenes in the film of my life. Animesh Banerjee and I were in the 8th grade, and had been friends since the 6th. I told him the truth about my sexuality patiently explaining homosexuality making him understand how it feels to be one. My father, a devout Sikh, a responsible family man, very revered and respected in society, learnt something new that day. There were trips to holy men, life advisors, psychiatrists, doctors and even pilgrimages in the years that followed.
