The country was shaken when one of Region 4-A’s tourist spots, Taal Volcano, erupted last weekend. The popular volcano in the province of Batangas, south of Manila, is just one of the 24 active volcanoes in the country. Eruptive historiesAccording to Maximo, Phivolcs has recorded 24 active and about 122 potentially active volcanoes in the country. “Active volcanoes are those that are frequently erupting in the last 10,000 years. On Jan. 12, 2020, or 42 years after the last recorded eruption, Taal Volcano blew its top again.
