Awami League (AL) Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap told the Dhaka Tribune the party will consider candidates who are committed to the party ideology and has worked for the party for years. “The Awami League always nominates the popular and devoted politicians. Like others, the AL will pick candidates for reserved seats who are ready to make sacrifices for the party and can uphold the party ideology,” he said. A total 1,510 aspiring female candidates have collected Awami League nomination forms for reserved seats. According to AL sources this is the highest number of female aspirants for the reserved seat in the history of the party.
