Mr Abhisit urged the EC to step up proactive enforcement, saying legal action will deter the practice, especially if authorities make arrests in one or two cases. Mr Abhisit said each party has the right to present its message, but voters should make decisions based on reason and facts. Mr Abhisit also proposed economic measures to tackle seasonal haze caused by agricultural burning, including refusing to purchase farm produce from areas where illegal burning occurs.
