Airbnb recently released its list of top trending destinations in South Africa for international guests. But the top spot belongs to Bela-Bela in Limpopo, where Airbnb bookings have surged by more than 400% over the past year. Many of these tourists have chosen Airbnb stays as their accommodation of choice while travelling across South Africa. Using booking and search data, Airbnb also compiled a list of "top trending destinations in South Africa for international guests in 2022." Ndlambe and Buffalo City in the Eastern Cape have also been named as some of South Africa's top trending destinations.
