Egyptian President Abdelfattah al-Sisi will make his first ever visit as leader to Turkey on July 27 amid improvement of ties between the two countries, reports say. During the visit, Al-Sisi will meet with Erdogan to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional developments, the reports add. On Tuesday, “Ahram Online” notes, Egypt and Turkey announced the upgrading of diplomatic relations to the ambassadorial level as the two countries move forward with measures to restore relations on all levels. In late May, President al-Sisi congratulated Erdogan on his re-election in a phone call, with the two leaders agreeing to boost their diplomatic relations as well as exchange ambassadors. Al Sisi’s last visit to Turkey dates back to 2013 when he was Minister of Defense.
