He described the current crisis as one of the most significant disruptions to the energy sector in modern history, citing supply shortages, price volatility, and mounting pressure on global supply chains. Al-Sisi called for intensified international efforts to end the conflict through political and diplomatic channels, stressing that prolonged fighting would further destabilise the region and exacerbate economic challenges worldwide. The remarks were delivered during the high-level gathering, attended by Nikos Christodoulides and senior executives from major global energy companies. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to settling outstanding payments owed to international energy companies by June 2026, a move aimed at strengthening investor confidence and supporting continued investment in the sector.
