SARIAYA, Quezon: Sahjid Alcala, son of Cerilo “Athel” Alcala, was arrested along with five others in a buy-bust at his residence in Barangay Balubal, this town on Tuesday. Alcala, 35, and his father Cerilo are considered high-profile drug suspects by the police. The father and son surrendered to the Lucena City police last August accompanied by Athel’s brother, Quezon Rep. Vicente Alcala, and nephew Roderick Alcala, the mayor of Lucena. The father-son tandem belongs to the reported Alcala Drug Group in Quezon. Athel and Shajid were both arrested in September 2008 in a major drug bust by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at their ancestral home in Barangay Cotta.
