Consumers can now use Snapchat to shop on Amazon. Snapchat users simply hold up their mobile device, scan an image or barcode and snap a photo. If it’s available an Amazon, a card will appear and the user can click through to Amazon, review and buy. Shopping via social media is now significantly more likely to drive purchases, particularly with younger shoppers, who are more likely to be heavy users of both Instagram and Snapchat. Already, a growing number of consumers are initiating product searches on Amazon, forgoing even Google.
