The former chief executive of the fashion house Burberry was responsible for redesigning Apple stores around the world as “town squares”. She had been widely tipped to succeed Tim Cook as the next chief executive of the technology giant. The company makes iPhones, iPads, Mac computers, the Apple Watch, Apple TV and other gadgets. It operates Apple Pay, the mobile payment system, and Apple Music, the music service.
