ISTANBUL: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived here Thursday (Jan 8) to attend several programmes before concluding his three-day official visit to Turkiye. The special aircraft carrying the Prime Minister and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, landed at Istanbul International Airport at 2.19pm local time (7.19pm Malaysia time). Also accompanying the Prime Minister were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, and Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani. The official visit forms part of efforts to further strengthen the long-standing bilateral relations between the two countries. Malaysia's trade with Turkiye from January to November 2025 reached RM21.2bil (US$4.92bil), with the republic continuing to be an important economic partner.
