Apologise over past comments on presidential jet - John Darko tells NDC

General News of Monday, 16 March 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comMember of Parliament for Suame, John Darko, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to apologise to Ghanaians over claims it made while in opposition regarding the condition of the presidential Falcon 900 jet. According to him, the NDC had insisted that the aircraft was in pristine condition, but is now suggesting that it is not fit for purpose. His comments come amid ongoing controversy over the continued use of a private jet belonging to the brother of President John Dramani Mahama for official travels, raising concerns about a potential conflict of interest. “They need to be frank with the people of Ghana that they were wrong and that they insulted Akufo-Addo for nothing. Akufo-Addo wanted a flashy private jet, which was why he was not using our presidential jet,” he added.
