Apple acquires medical startup GliimpseBolstering Apple’s efforts in digital health, the company has reportedly acquired Gliimpse — a personal health data startup which aims to build a secure platform where consumers can manage and share their own medical records and info, the Fast Company reported. (mb.com.ph) Apple acquires medical startup Gliimpse(mb.com.ph)Although Apple has been quiet about the acquisition which reportedly happened earlier this year, Fast Company said that Apple has already confirmed the procurement, saying: “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”The company started by Sethi and Karthik Hariharan on April 2013, was built out of a personal need. Sethi discovered how challenging it was to acquire and manage personal health data after following his sister’s battle with breast cancer. Gliimpse is the latest addition in Apple’s list of digital health services. Previously, Apple developed medical services apps like HealthKit, CareKit, and ResearchKit.
