The team announced on Tuesday they have signed quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson to a one-year extension. The 31-year-old’s play was one of the few positives as the Argos finished 4-14 last season. Bethel-Thompson led the Canadian Football League with 26 touchdown passes in 16 games and was third in passing yards with 4,024. Bethel-Thompson said he is looking forward to learning under new Argos head coach Ryan Dinwiddie, a former CFL quarterback. Twice, Bethel-Thompson passed for more than 400 yards.
