Two men alleged to have pointed a firearm at a police car are to appear in the New Plymouth District Court on Monday. (file photo)The Taranaki police Armed Offenders Squad raided a Waitara house after two men were alleged to have aimed a firearm at a patrol car. About 10.20pm on Friday members of the public alerted police they had allegedly seen the occupants of a car stopped at the intersection of Northgate and Mangorei Rd point a firearm at a patrol car as it drove off. Detective Senior Sergeant Gerard Bouterey said two men, aged 26 and 21, were arrested and due to appear in the New Plymouth District Court on Monday. Bouterey said the men’s alleged actions of pointing a firearm at police was concerning.
