Barely a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav inaugurated India's first and Asia's longest bicycle highway between Agra and Etawah, the highway has already started disappearing under encroachments that will soon render this innovative dream project of the Chief Minister totally useless. Neither the district administration nor the Samajwadi Party workers are paying any attention to this and soon this multi-crore highway will completely disappear under these encroachments. He said that the Chief Minister has been informed about these encroachments and hopefully he will take action." The Sign Boards announcing the cycle track have also started disappearing and the Public Works Department(PWD) staff could be seen searching for these missing sign boards today. However, he said that this road could also go the way of the cycle track if encroachments are not prevented and the expensive lighting fixtures are not protected from vandals.
