Mrs Akumu, who is contesting on a Citizens Conventions Party (CCP) ticket, claimed she is being trailed by unidentified people. The CCP party leader is battling it out with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)’s Rozah Buyu and Beatrice Anyango Okalo of Jubilee to replace Rose Nyamunga as the second woman representative for Kisumu County. One has hired the assassins and is being helped by another who is housing them here in Kisumu,” said Mrs Akumu. She claimed that her rivals are worried about her popularity and fear losing to her in the August 8 elections.
