Libya’s Attorney General’s Office reported today that it had ordered the former Acting Financial Controller at the Libyan Mission in Egypt to be remanded in custody. This was in response to violating the rules and regulations for managing public funds; By deliberately disposing of millions of pounds in contravention of the governing rules; and his violation of the requirements of reviewing financial operations and examining their compatibility with financial systems; which caused serious damage to public money.
