Auckland drivers warned to drive safely during March madness traffic congestion

Auckland drivers warned to drive safely during March madness traffic congestionCHRIS SKELTON/FAIRFAX NZ Auckland traffic is notoriously bad in MarchCongestion is building in Auckland as the first full week of "March madness" on the roads begins. NZTA was warning Auckland motorists to keep a safe distance from other commuters as congestion built up on the city's roads on Monday morning. Auckland Transport had put on additional public transport services, including four double-decker buses, but was still warning people to allow extra time to get to work or university. Auckland Transport was hoping increased capacity on its routes would mean commuters weren't hit as hard as they were last year with traffic in March. It is a joint initiative between NZTA and Auckland Transport and will also broadcast messages from NZ Police and Auckland Civil Defence and Emergency Management.
