MetService, Auckland Council, Civil Defence and the New Zealand Transport Agency all issued warnings for the Auckland and Northland regions on Thursday morning. Hamilton, New Plymouth and Westport were next on the hit list for the band, bringing with it heavy rain, wind and thunderstorms.
