Speaking to the media at the constituency’s collation centre, Ali Yussif indicated that the collation of the by-election results by his team showed that he had lost. Ali Yussif indicated that he is not disappointed with the outcome of the election, saying, “Why should I be disappointed? According to the results, Baba Jamal garnered about 10,803 votes, representing 63.33% of the total votes cast. His closest contender, Baba Ali Yussif of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), polled 4,000 votes, representing 23.45% of the total votes cast.
