BAN vs SL: Pacer Taskin Ahmed becomes first concussion substitute in men's ODIs

Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has become the first player in the history of the one-day internationals to come in as a concussion substitute. In the second ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin was hit on the helmet by the Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera. By the virtue of the same, Taskin Ahmed, a like-for-like replacement being a fast bowler was drafted into the XI and became the first player in the men's ODIs to come in as a concussion substitute. As it has happened once in women's ODIs when Shabika Gajnabi replaced Chinelle Henry for West Indies against India in 2019. Batting first the hosts put on 246 runs owing to a fantastic knock by Rahim of 125 runs off just 127 balls.
