EDMONTON — Jamirr Holland ran a much faster 40-yard dash on Monday than he did 15 years ago for Wally Buono. His father Robert was a hard-working DB who had a taste of the National Football League with the San Francisco 49ers but flourished in the Canadian Football League with the Edmonton Eskimos, where he won a Grey Cup in 1993, and then with B.C. when he was a kid, and he wasn’t about to throw away an opportunity to kick-start a pro career on the field. He was one of 42 players at Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre hoping to win an invitation to the main CFL combine later this month. “I was kind of shocked by my numbers but I’m really happy with them,” said Ross.
