On Monday, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of BSMRTU, Prof Dr Khondoker Md Nasiruddin submitted his resignation to the Ministryof Education. Hearing the news, the students called a press conference yesterday and announced they were calling off the strike as their demand had been met. Students at the press conference said they are really happy and thanked the premier of the country for her support. Student protests at BSMRTU started on September 13 when BSMRSTU authorities issued an order to suspend second-year law student Fatema-tuz-Zinia, for her supposedly objectionable comments about BSMRSTU on Facebook on September 10.
