Babar Azam's legal counsel accuses woman of blackmailing his client

Pakistan's all-format captain Babar Azam's legal counsel has accused Lahore-based woman Hamiza Mukhtar of blackmailing and demanding ₹45 Lakhs for withdrawing her case when she levelled charges of sexual exploitation, fraud and harassment against the cricketer earlier this month. Hamiza had accused Babar of sexually exploiting her and giving a false promise of marriage, showing the chats between the two in a press conference. Babar's legal counsel said that all her allegations were baseless and won't pay a penny as he added saying that the girl first demanded Rs 10 million and then reduced the amount to Rs 2 million to drop her case. "She is trying to defame and harass my client knowing he is a famous personality," he told the court. After which he asked the court judge to summon Hamiza's lawyer for the same and the court later adjourned the hearing, issuing orders to Hamiza's lawyer to appear and read out the arguments.
