The Bauchi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed sympathy with journalists who were involved in an unfortunate road accident while on official assignment covering the commissioning of projects by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) on Friday in Bauchi State. CAN, in a statement issued by its State Chairman, Rev. Dr Abraham Damina Dimeus, on Monday, said it was deeply saddened by the incident, which occurred in the line of the journalists’ professional duty in service to humanity. “We also commend the prompt and compassionate response of the Bauchi State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, and others.”According to the statement, “At this difficult moment, the CAN Bauchi State Chapter stands firmly with the media community. We pray that Almighty God grants healing to the injured, comfort to their families, and continued protection to journalists and media practitioners as they discharge their vital responsibilities to society.”It further prayed, “May this unfortunate incident strengthen our collective resolve to promote safety, solidarity, and mutual support among all communication and media professionals.”
