File PhotoDHAKA, April 8, 2026 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury today said Baul philosophy is an important and progressive stream of Bengal's cultural heritage, promoting humanity, love and equality. "Baul philosophy speaks of discovering the inner self and spreading messages of humanism and harmony," he said a seminar as the chief guest at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital. The seminar, titled "Socio-economic Survey of Bauls in Bangladesh," was organised by the Bangladesh Baul and Folk Artists Association. He added that the ministry would take necessary policy measures to ensure the welfare and development of Baul and folk artists.
