The management of the Bayelsa State-owned Niger Delta University (NDU) has announced an indefinite closure of the institution, suspending academic activities following series of protests by students over the closure of its school fees portal and the introduction of a dress code for students. Some students who spoke under conditions of anonymity claimed that even 300 level and final year students and that this is one of the major reasons the students staged a protest against the management of the university. It was further gathered that the protest further escalated when the management of the university announced that students must wear uniforms to school. Also, Nigeria is not part of the Arab League and there is no evidence that that league will make a statement about a non-member.
