The opposition People’s Party put forward Mr Parit, 33, a party-list MP and the party’s spokesman. Lawmakers will vote for the House speaker by secret ballot. Bhumjaithai, as leader of the coalition, will nominate Mallika Jirapunvanit, a Lop Buri MP and deputy transport minister, as first deputy speaker.
