If colleges fail to update the attendance, the department will be unable to process the salaries of these teachers. Ajay Nagabhushan, Commissioner of the department, said that aided colleges should use their own funds to set up this system. The biometric attendance system was implemented in government colleges several years ago. H. Prakash, president, Karnataka Government College Teachers’ Association, welcomed the move.
