Fans of the Blue Jays may have noticed Edwin Encarnacion’s penchant for smelling his bat after he hits a foul ball. In the four games against the Orioles, the Jays racked up 30 runs and 45 hits. Encarnacion’s bat is heating up again, and so, it seems, is the Blue Jays’ offence. The Jays won a slugfest against the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday afternoon, outlasting their division rival to win 10-9 in what was an unpleasant and nervy day for both pitching staffs, forced to tangle with two power-laden lineups hitting into a beneficial breeze. Hitting home runs hasn’t been the problem for the Jays this year.
