Body found in ice identified

From news servicesThe frozen body of an airman found encased in ice on a mountain in California's Sierra Nevada range has been identified as a missing World War II aviator from Brainerd, Minn., according to CNN.com. Hikers found the body, which was remarkably well-preserved, in October. Mustonen's name was on a list of fewer than 10 airmen whose planes went missing in that area. The body, still encased in ice, was flown to a military laboratory in Hawaii for identification. In October, Brainerd resident Marjorie Freeman, 82, said that Mustonen does not have any immediate family left in the Brainerd area, but that nieces and other extended family members live in Florida.
